Water main repair closes N Himes Avenue

TAMPA — A water main break on N Himes Avenue that has been repaired but needs additional work will close the road's southbound lanes between W Chestnut and W Spruce streets until next week.

The closure, near the 1900 block of N Himes Avenue at Columbus Drive, will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday and likely end on April 23, weather permitting.

All southbound traffic will be detoured to MacDill Avenue or N Dale Mabry Highway, according to the city wastewater department.

Sewer service in the area is not expected to be affected.
