Rollover crash causes heavy delays on Sunshine Skyway

At least one northbound lane of Interstate 275 at the Sunshine Skyway bridge was closed early Wednesday after a crash that caused a car to roll over near the midpoint of the bridge.

The bridge was cleared just before 8 a.m.

Bay News 9 reported the crash involved two cars and a construction pickup truck.

Traffic was backed up to U.S. 19 in Palmetto about 6:20 a.m., Bay News 9 reported.

A second crash on northbound I-275, near U.S. 19, also caused delays for Manatee County commuters headed to Tampa.
