BRADENTON — Two men died Saturday afternoon when their kayak flipped over on Lake Manatee, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said.
Three people were on board the kayak when it capsized around noon, Bay News 9 reported. A Good Samaratin on the water brought one of them to shore; divers with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office and wildlife commission officers searched for the others, authorities said.
At 4:32 p.m., officials reported that two bodies were recovered from the lake, Bay News 9 reported.
Their identities were not released, pending notification of family members.
Officials on the scene said the men were not wearing life vests.
