TWo men die In separate early sunday crashes
Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies were investigating two separate traffic deaths early Sunday. Around 12:30 a.m., a motorcyclist driving west on Progress Boulevard crashed after striking a median support, deputies said. The male victim, who was not identified because authorities had not yet reached family members, died at Tampa General Hospital. Deputies said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet. In the second incident around 3:15 a.m., deputies said a bicyclist crossing U.S. 41 near Crystal Lake Road in Lutz drove into the path of a Ford Fusion. The bicyclist died on scene. The male victim's name was also not released as authorities attempted to notify relatives.
Deputies: Man had kids during deal
Deputies arrested a Brandon man Saturday after they say they found drugs in his car — along with his two kids. Around 5:45 p.m., an undercover deputy observed the man making a "hand-to-hand" transaction in a parking lot at 11292 Boyette Road in Riverview, according to an arrest affidavit. The man allowed a search of his vehicle, where the deputy found a small bag of white powder that tested positive for cocaine, the affidavit said. The search also discovered a bottle of Xanax with a torn-off label. The man left his 4-year-old and 7-year-old children in his vehicle during the transaction, which occurred within 1,000 feet of Riverview High School, according to the affidavit. Thomas Francis Kurina, 35, faces two charges of child neglect and two charges of drug possession. He remained Sunday in Hillsborough County jail on $8,000 bail. According to the affidavit, deputies also arrested 23-year-old Tony Lee Boggs of Seffner in connection with the incident. Boggs was charged with delivery of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school. He was released from jail Sunday on $15,000 bail.

The woman's foot slipped, accidentally hitting the accelerator instead of the brake, authorities said. Her car drove over the curb and hit the glass in front of the Olive Garden in Largo Mall about 12:45 p.m. Two customers were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. The driver was not injured. No charges were filed.
