Two victims fatally beaten, police say

Two victims found inside a Plant City home Saturday were beaten to death, police said Tuesday. Police have not named any suspects in the deaths. A person of interest in the case, 47-year-old Ruben Brooks Jr., was shot Monday evening in what police called a retaliatory attack. Brooks remained Tuesday at Lakeland Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Towles said. Police were still looking for his assailant.
