Steam and ash spew from Mount Tavurvur, which erupted Friday in Papua New Guinea, causing communities to be evacuated and some international flights to be diverted. Residents of Rabaul, the provincial capital, were advised to remain indoors, authorities said. The volcano destroyed Rabaul in 1994 when it erupted simultaneously with Mount Vulcan. A resident on a neighboring island recorded the eruption. Watch it at tampabay.com/video.
