BRANDON — Most of Hillsborough County is under a severe thunderstorm warning, including the Brandon and Riverview areas, where quarter-sized hail has been reported.
The storm is moving south, but more heavy showers, lightning and high winds are expected to hit from the north before 5 p.m., said Brian Lamarre, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Ruskin.
All of Hillsborough County, except for the northern portion, is under the warning until 5 p.m. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 7 p.m., Lamarre said.
