The threat of another cold snap sent farmers scrambling Wednesday after forecasters predicted temperatures would dip below freezing early today in parts of the Tampa Bay area. "We don't expect to break any records, but normally it doesn't get this cold this late in the winter," Bay News 9 chief meteorologist Mike Clay said Wednesday. Blueberry farmer Bret Boston said the cold could damage his crop, which is about three weeks away from picking. Officials in Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough counties opened shelters Wednesday evening. The record low for the last week of February in Tampa was 27 degrees in 1967, the National Weather Service said. Another cold front could arrive Tuesday, Clay said.
