A storm system battering the central United States with snow and severe weather will largely spare the Tampa Bay region, though clouds and scattered storms are possible through Sunday.
Winds from the front will make for difficult boating over the next few days.
Chance of rain is 50 percent on Friday, 40 percent on Saturday and 30 percent on Sunday, said Bay News 9 meteorologist Brian McClure. High daily temperatures will remain in the low to mid 80s.
"We're so late into the season now that it will be kind of limping into our state," he said. "So it will lose its punch."
The front is expected to break apart over Florida on Sunday.
