Dense fog blanketed northern Tampa Bay Friday morning, bringing visibility down to a quarter mile in some areas.
The National Weather Service issued a fog advisory for Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties, but some fog was also lingering in parts of Polk and eastern Hillsborough counties, Bay News 9 meterologist Juli Marquez said.
The Florida Highway Patrol also issued several weather warnings for drivers. In Dade City, visibility dropped to half a mile along Interstate 75.
The fog was expected to disappear by 9 a.m., followed by sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s.
