Some patchy early-morning fog is expected to clear by 9 a.m. Wednesday, giving way to afternoon showers and thunderstorms across Tampa Bay.

The overall cloudy day will still be pretty warm, with a high of 77, and should stay dry during the morning before light rain and a few rumbles of thunder arrive around 2 p.m., according to 10Weather WTSP meteorologist Ashley Batey.

But the front won't produce much rain, Batey said, and should clear out of the area by about 7 p.m.

Cooler air filters in behind the showers, dropping temperatures Thursday and driving Friday morning temperatures down to the upper 40s, Batey said.
