Bay News 9

Jack-o'-lanterns, skeletons and witches' hats. These are the images of Halloween.

Not record heat.

But that's the frightful prediction.

Forecasters say temperatures in parts of Tampa Bay could climb into the high 80s on Thursday, nearing the record for the date — 89 degrees set in 1972.

The good news is that the weather will be dry. No rain is expected late in the afternoon and early evening, when trick or treaters hit the streets.
