While skies will remain sunny, and we have largely seen the last of the oppressive summertime heat, temperatures and humidity will begin to creep up across the region, 10Weather WTSP meteorologist Ashley Batey said.

"We're not going to see those crisp, cool days much longer," Batey said.

Winds shifting from the northeast to the east will help contribute to the increased humidity and warmer feel, Batey said. And while plenty of bright sunshine is forecast throughout the workweek, the warming trend also will continue heading into the weekend, driving highs to near 90 in some areas.

After starting out around 60, highs on Monday will reach the low-80s, Batey said. Overnight lows will be slightly warmer than they have been, in the upper 50s as humidity inches back up this week.

Highs on Tuesday will reach the mid-80s, starting a gradual climb that will take temperatures into the mid- to upper-80s for the rest of the week.
