A broad area of low pressure 575 miles east of the Leeward Islands (map below) became less organized overnight, according to the National Hurricane Center, and is not likely to become a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.

Currently, the band of showers and thunderstorms is moving west-northwest at 15 mph.

Several computer models whose results were released at 8 p.m. Monday have the system tucking under Puerto Rico and Cuba into next week. They do not project far enough out to predict a run through the Caribbean to the Gulf of Mexico.
