Bertha strengthened into the season's second hurricane Monday morning.
The storm was located about 230 miles east northeast of Great Abaco Island in the Atlantic at 11 a.m. Monday. It had maximum sustained winds of 80 mph and was moving north at about 17 mph.
No coastal watches were in effect, and the storm was expected to pass between the east coast and Bermuda Tuesday before losing strength. It was not expected to affect Florida.
