Low pressure system could develop into depression by week's end

An area of low pressure over Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula has a high chance of developing into a named storm over the next two days.

Forecasters expected the storm to move west northwest over the Bay of Campeche, where conditions are favorable for development.

As it moves toward eastern Mexico, it could bring heavy rains, flooding and mud slides to an area already battered early this week by Hurricane Irene.
