Tropical Storm Kirk now a hurricane but no threat to land

Tropical Storm Kirk has developed into a hurricane in the central Atlantic Ocean.

The National Hurricane center says Kirk has sustained winds of 75 mph.

Kirk is moving northwest at about 12 mph but is not considered a threat to land.

Another storm in the central Atlantic has developed into Tropical Storm Leslie.

It is currently moving west at 20 mph but is expected to begin a northwesterly course within 48 hours and is not expected to be a threat to land.
