A tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect until 10 p.m. for Hernando, Citrus, Polk, Sumter and Levy counties.
An earlier alert that included Hillsborough and Pasco counties has been canceled.
A tornado watch means that conditions are conducive to the formation of a funnel cloud.
But, according to Bay News 9, it seems unlikely that would have happen in the bay area.
The sea breeze, along which storms frequently break out, moved inland several hours ago.
