After a weekend of chilly weather, temperatures in the Tampa Bay area are expected to warm up this week.
In inland areas, Citrus and Hernando counties saw temperatures sink into the 20s early Sunday, according to Bay News 9 meteorologist Josh Linker. And the National Weather Service issued a freeze warning for the counties until early today.
It was a cold end to a brisk week. But "this will be it," at least for now, Linker said, as today ushers in high temperatures in the mid- to high-70s and low temperatures near 60 degrees.
As winter looms, Linker said the weather analysis is pointing toward a season of average or slightly below-average temperatures.
