Bringing overdue rainfall after a dry month, storms move into the Tampa Bay area Monday.
The region will see a 60 percent chance of showers and storms throughout the day, said Bay News 9 meteorologist Diane Kacmarik.
Tuesday's storms are more likely to loom in the afternoon, she said. Wednesday will be drier before rain returns this week.
"That's the big highlight of the week," she said.
Average rainfall in March measures 2.45 inches so far, Kacmarik said, but only 1.6 inches have been recorded at Tampa International Airport this month.
It's a stark contrast to last March, she said, which was particularly damp with more than 4 inches of rain.
Higher-than-normal temperatures will continue, with highs hovering around 80 degrees.
