Photos: 10 years ago, Hurricane Charley slammed into Punta Gorda

On Aug. 13, 2004, Hurricane Charley headed straight for Tampa Bay before turning right, slamming into Charlotte County and cutting across the state's midsection. Here are some photos taken in and around Punta Gorda that demonstrate not only the severity of the damage caused by Charley but also the strength and resilience of the affected residents and the compassion and effort of those who came to help.

    TAMPA — CAPTRUST Advisors, a Raleigh, N.C.-based investment consulting firm, is moving its Tampa offices into Park Tower. CapTrust's new space will be 10,500 square feet — the entirety of the 18th floor of the downtown building, which is scheduled to undergo a multi-million-dollar renovation by 2018.
