Rain arrives as polls open; showers likely through morning

Here comes the rain.

Just as polls opened Tuesday, showers began arriving along the coast, from Hernando County to Pinellas.

Rains could be occasionally heavy as a cool front passes through the Tampa Bay region through the morning.

Skies should begin clearing in the early afternoon.

Behind the rain will come cooler, drier air which will keep daytime highs in the mid- to low 70s over the next three days.

Overnight lows will dip into the 50s, and the high 40s in areas immediately north of the Tampa Bay region.
