Forecasters say rain is likely this weekend, possibly putting a damper on several outdoor festivities, including the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.
Attendees at this weekend's race should anticipate a 60 percent chance of rain on Saturday, when many of the qualifying events and lower-profile races are scheduled.
Temperatures will be in the mid 70s, according to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez.
"It definitely looks like we'll be having some rain but probably not a total washout,'' said Todd Barron, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Ruskin.
Rain chances will drop to 20 percent Sunday as another cold front moves through the area. The greatest possibility of rain will be early Sunday, forecasters said. The main race starts at 3:20 p.m.
Temperatures probably will drop slightly after the front moves through, forecasters said.
