Even though it's going to be a rainy Friday, the National Weather Service predicts this weekend should be dry and cool.
Minor coastal flooding is possible in the Tampa Bay area later this afternoon during high tide. Thunderstorms are expected to last throughout the day. Some parts of south Florida are under a tornado watch because of the possibility of severe weather.
As for the weekend, expect the rain to go away, said Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez. Colder air will settle in Saturday with a high of 63. Lows will be in the 40s throughout the weekend.
"It will be quite chilly all the way into Wednesday morning," she said.
