Heat wave breaking or tying records

The high temperature at Tampa International Airport broke or tied a record for the third day in a row on Wednesday.

The high Wednesday was 89, tying the record set in 1960.

The high temperature reached 92 degrees Tuesday at Tampa International Airport, eclipsing by four degrees the record for that date.

"It feels like summer, doesn't it?'' said Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez.

The heat wave has lifted temperatures as much as 10 degrees above normal. A weekend cool front should reduce temperatures to seasonal norms, the low 80s.
