As sleet and ice spread across the northern Florida Panhandle, Florida State University announced Tuesday that it would shut down the main campus in Tallahassee at 10 p.m. and would reopen at noon Wednesday.
The closing was announced by Kyle Clark, vice president for finance and administration, in an email to FSU students and employees.
Residence halls were to remain fully operational for on-campus residents. But the Suwannee Room and the Fresh Food Company dining facilities were to close at 10 and reopen at 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Campus recreation facilities also were to close at 9 p.m.
