Tampa Bay fog to ease into moody weather

Tampa Bay was under a dense-fog advisory until 10 a.m. Tuesday, with visibility down to a half-mile or less.

The Florida Highway Patrol urged motorists to use caution as they crossed the Sunshine Skyway bridge.

The fog followed a warm and humid night. The clouds should clear up a bit in the afternoon, starting north of Tampa Bay, said Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez.

Temperatures were around the low 60s Tuesday morning. It could get up to the mid 70s for some areas later.

Tuesday night will be cool, with lows dropping into the mid 50s. Areas north and east of Tampa could drop into the 40s Wednesday morning.

There is a 50 percent chance of rain for Wednesday, and more cold air is expected to arrive that night.

Highs for Thursday should be in the upper 50s, well below normal. The chill will stick around awhile, she said.

"It's going to be chilly Friday and even early Saturday," she said.
