Tuesday not only was a nice day. It was nearly historic.
The high temperature in Tampa reached only 80 degrees, 1 degree shy of the coolest high temperature for May 17 – 79 degrees, set in 1913.
The below-normal temperatures that swept into the region over the weekend are expected to continue through Wednesday before warming up again by the end of the week, according to Juli Marquez, Bay News 9 meteorologist.
Cool weather has been hard to imagine for most of the spring, which has seen one of the hottest Aprils on record. Temperatures were consistently in the 90s during the day last week.
Temperatures should dip into the 50s and 60s overnight before reaching the low 80s on Wednesday. Temperatures will start to warm up Thursday before reaching the 80s and 90s on Friday.
