The chance of rain is strong today for most of the Tampa Bay area as temperatures heat up throughout the morning then cool down slightly with some showers.
Citrus and Hernando counties may get rain earlier in the morning as a front hangs in the north, said National Weather Service forecaster Jennifer Colson.
Areas farther south have a 30 to 40 percent chance of showers in late morning to early afternoon, with the chance of rain dropping to zero by about 4 p.m.
Inland Pasco and Hillsborough could experience temperatures in the mid to high 80s, above average for this time of year. Most of the area will stay in the low to mid 80s all week.
