TAMPA — Hope you've got an umbrella.
Tuesday began with patchy fog and light rain hovering over the Tampa Bay area, and more rain is expected to roll in from the Gulf of Mexico through the morning, said Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez. Temperatures are expected to plummet overnight.
Fog blanketed parts of coastal Pinellas County and areas north of Tampa, including Pasco, with visibility less than a mile in some inland locations, according to the National Weather Service.
Marquez said it should all clear up by the early afternoon when a cold front moves in.
Temperatures early Tuesday were in the 60s but will dip to the 40s overnight and early Wednesday.
