Tampa Bay residents who shivered through their Thanksgiving meal can look forward to a warmer, sunny weekend ahead.
Temperatures should top out in the mid 70's today and the high 70's Saturday and Sunday. Bay News 9 Meteorologist Juli Marquez said the beaches will be cooler, but nowhere near the lows in the 30's and 40's the area experienced Thursday.
Lows will only dip into the 50's in most places. About 7:40 a.m., Marquez pointed out that temperatures were 10 to 15 degrees warmer than they were at the same time Thursday.
"For people who want a nicer, warmer holiday weekend, that's what we have in store for them," Marquez said.
Saturday and Sunday will be breezy, but Marquez said there was less than a 10 percent chance of showers throughout the weekend.
