A waterspout churned in Tampa Bay on Tuesday evening as a patch of severe weather moved into central Pinellas County. The twister formed just off the Gandy Bridge, said Bay News 9 meteorologist Brian McClure said. Dozens of residents and motorists snapped photos of the funnel cloud. The storms dumped heavy rain on Pinellas County and high winds caused some minor damage along Gandy Boulevard N. Duke Energy reported more than 2,000 customers were without power about 10 p.m. and the storms prompted a power delay at Tropicana Field during the Tampa Bay Rays game.
