Tampa Bay Weather

Weather: Warm and muggy Mother's Day weekend ahead

Mother Nature has a warm, muggy and mostly dry weekend in store for bay area mothers.

Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez says skies will be mostly sunny on Saturday and partly sunny on Mother's Day, with about a 20 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms both days. Morning low temperatures will be in the low 70s and afternoon highs could climb past 90 degrees in inland areas.

"People along the coast will get the nice breeze to prevent you from getting as hot," Marquez said. "You get away from the water and it's easily going to be in the high 80s and low 90s."

The forecast calls for similar conditions through the first half of next week.
