FANTASTICAL TIMES

A writing contest for Tampa Bay high school students

From ancient times, every culture on earth has created fantastical creatures to explain natural phenomena, symbolize belief systems and illustrate moral codes.

From mythical creatures such as dragons and griffins, to legendary beings such as unicorns, elves, banshees and mermaids, to modern folklore such as krakens, vampires, golems, yetis and chupacabras, fantastical creatures populate our dreams – and our nightmares.

Tampa Bay high school students, submit your original, unpublished short story on the following theme by March 31, 2017.

Submissions will be judged by a panel of experts including professional fantasy and science fiction authors Greg Bossert, Marie Brennan and Rick Wilber.

• $100 grand prize
