Bully Blasters

Bullying can happen to anyone, anywhere. The serial story Bully Blasters (which ran in the Times
during the summer) explores how a student named Ben and his friends try to stop a bully.

You can download each week's installment of the story and a newspaper activity designed to
sharpen students' "Bully Blaster" skills below.

Students can win prizes and share their own Bully Blaster solutions with others at our own "bully pulpit," the NIE BLOGGING ZONE. Just go to blogs.tampabay.com/nie and select Bully Blaster from the categories menu to get started.

After reading all ten chapters, students can write their own endings to Bully Blasters and submit them to the Times to win prizes and/or get their entries published at tampabay.com/nie.

Entries must be postmarked no later than September 28, 2007 for prizes, but classes that do this activity later in the school year can send in their work for NIE to display on tampabay.com/nie.
