Want to be a Sizzlin' Summer Times Reader?
School is out for the summer so put your textbooks away. Now it is time to have some fun reading about the hot topics of today. The best place to do that? The St. Petersburg Times of course!
Here is everything you need to know.
• This summer, the Times wants you to get "In the know" by
reading our HOT SPOT feature in the classified section every day. The
HOT SPOT will include some fun facts and an activity you and your family
can do with your newspaper.
download a reader log you can use to track your favorite Times articles.
Using this reading log can do more than just save your memories of
summer. At the beginning of the 2007-08 school year, participating
students who completed their reading logs will also be eligible to
win some great prizes: including a Dell computer with a flat screen
monitor and DVD burner! Be sure to check out the HOT SPOT on Fridays
for details on how to win.
• To make summer reading even more appealing, special discount
offers will be available for Summer Times Reader participants
who wear their lapel pins, such as free admission and discounts to
local attractions and businesses.
• If you didn't sign up for the program during the school year,
you can still do that at any St. Petersburg Times location
and at many local libraries and businesses. Click
here for a full list of addresses or call the Times NIE
office at 727-893-8138 to register.
• Your family must be a subscriber to the St. Petersburg
Times
for you to participate. Many students in
Pinellas and Pasco counties are eligible for a free home subscription. Click
here to learn more about Pinellas School District partnership.
• All families in the Tampa Bay who have never before subscribed
to the Times area are eligible for a special 75 percent savings
on a 13 week subscription.
Call 800-388-4637, and mention code offer 4439 for Hillsborough County residents, code 4440 for Pasco County, or 4441 for Pinellas County.
