Letters to the Editor for Oct. 27

Review a mix of praises, criticisms | Oct. 20, 2017

Superintendent should be more of a team builder

Constructive criticism does not seem to be superintendent of schools Lori Romano’s area of acceptance. Control is, but she has apparently lost the full support of several of the School Board members.

She is also not open to evaluation, even though the team hired to do so was composed of other professional educators. Her main supporters on the board, although not professional educators, side with her against the evaluation report and the professional educators who are elected to the board. Why then was the money spent?

It is probable that she will not be the superintendent after the end of her current contract if not before. Experience in administration hirings indicates that she will seek other pastures. Perhaps the next person the board hires should be less confrontational and abrasive with staff and more of a team builder.
