Re: Residents object to solar farm | March 16, story

Lakeland Electric has shown that residential customers can be incentivized to allow placement of utility-owned solar panels on their roofs. Likewise, business owners can be incentivized to allow placement of utility-owned solar panels on their buildings, plus utility-owned solar canopies to shade their parking lots. Utilities could then place megawatt-sized vanadium redox flow batteries at their substations to balance the loads and provide other essential services. This would substantially reduce (if not eliminate) the need for solar farms.

Pasco County residents need to recycle

We have been living in Pasco county for 15 years and recycling in three states for 34 years. Our garbage hauler and recycle company is J. D. Parker and Sons in New Port Richey. They have picked up our recyclables once a week since we have lived here with no problems. They even supply the stickers for the cans. Our garbage also is picked up twice a week with no problems.

For you people who scream about Pasco County's program for recycling, it is not them, it is your hauler. Also, you are able to take your recyclables to the Hays Road facility and three other sites in the county.

Recycle — it doesn't hurt!
