Letters To The Editor

Re: Your opinion needed on parks, libraries | Nov. 24 story

Survey question should focus on taxes

After reading the article by C.T. Bowen, Pasco Times columnist, I tried filling out the online survey to give my input to improve Pasco County’s "quality of life" services, i.e., parks and libraries. But the first question is, "Are you a registered voter in Pasco County, Florida?" I’m a snowbird and I vote in Wisconsin, so I answered, "No," and the survey kicked me out.

The real question should be, "Do you pay property taxes in Pasco County, Florida?" I’ve paid property taxes in Pasco County for 27 years, and I should have a voice. I’m actually in favor of a $10 increase for libraries and parks as I use both extensively and I consider both a great asset to the residents of Pasco County.
