If husband becomes sheriff, stay home

Race for sheriff gets independent underdog Oct. 5, C.T. Bowen column

Don't seek office; just stay home

Mr. Kinzy is running for sheriff because he wants his wife to be able to go out at night without being a victim of crime.

He wants to hire more deputies, make criminals pay more for law enforcement and charge fees to those making nonemergency calls.

I would suggest that Mrs. Kinzy stays home at night if her husband becomes the sheriff.

Night of debates a conflict for Jews

The West Pasco Chamber of Commerce has scheduled an important evening of debates on Thursday, Oct. 9, the day and evening of an important Jewish observance.

Please contact the chamber and let it know of your thoughts on the subject. We in the Jewish community need to step up and speak up to those who think lightly about scheduling conflicts and say it was a mistake and they'll do better next year. They can do better this year.

There is still time to make it right. The chamber should realize the significance of its mistake.

Do your part for greener world

We must focus on a clean energy economy which will bring millions of green jobs to America. Everyone must do their part.

My husband and I recently became the first household to have net metering in Pasco County in which the energy produced from our solar panels is sold back to the power company.

We're up and running along with our Prius seriously trying to do our part to change the focus of this country to one of clean energy.
