The Times offers candidates not recommended by the editorial board an opportunity to reply to the newspaper's recommendations. Here is one response:
Bobby Kinzy, candidate
Thank you for omitting me from your sheriff's recommendation.
I think the voters of Pasco County will recognize that I am the only vote for change on the ballot, that I am neither a politician nor a disgruntled ex-employee from failed past administrations. They will also note that I have probably made as many arrests in the last 10 years or so as my opponents.
My experience with multimillion-dollar budgets, coupled with my organizational skills and team-building abilities, certainly will apply.
My intentions of removing the politics and the "good old boy" syndrome, along with my zero tolerance for drugs and dealing with the rising gang problems, will certainly allow the citizens of Pasco County to rest easier.
We cannot stand for status quo and need to return the Sheriff's Office to common-sense law enforcement and administration. Please vote for me, Bobby Kinzy, on Nov. 4.
