Letters: Help sought by animal rescue community

Help sought to save four dogs

On July 21, four dogs were surrendered by their owner/rescuer from Hudson who could no longer take care of them or provide for them.

The woman refused to let other rescues or animal lovers affiliated with rescue take the animals and assist with removing them to safer and healthier conditions. The dogs were left in the heat, in unsanitary conditions and/or without proper medical care. They were left alone for stretches of time and were extremely frightened and stressed. These four dogs, Hopscotch, Diesel, Bronco and Daisy, were surrendered and labeled aggressive and basically left with a death sentence.

Rescue people, who arrived at the Pasco Animal Shelter to assist these dogs, were denied the right to see them, told they were extremely dangerous, and declared they would most likely be euthanized. They did not give any indication or hope that assessments would be done or that other rescues would have an opportunity to pull the dogs and provide them a safer environment.

The dogs are not the problem here. Their fear and stressful living conditions brought on extreme anxiety that resulted in some behavioral issues. These dogs deserve a chance to have a better life. They may need training and patience after decompression, but they are definitely redeemable.

The rescue community is willing to band together to help these dogs get to better lives and permanent safer homes. We just need time to get them out to fosters, rescues and trainers.

Please do not let them die without a chance. SaveTheAnimalsSaveTheWorld.org is wiling to donate to their cause and help with training, vet care and additional needs for these poor forgotten animals.

A Hudson-based rescue can no longer care for its animals and the rescue community has offered to help. Please print this letter so there can be some hope to save some of these dogs.

Why is Reeves case going as it is? | July 8 letter

Reeves could have left theater

The Curtis Reeves case is so drawn out because they want to forget about a little girl who lost her daddy forever.

When Reeves went out of the theater to (talk to management) he could have left. What was going to hurt him? Popcorn?

Thanks to letter writer Jeff Kotova. His letter shows people still care.
