SWAT team use was overreaction
Maybe Attorney General Pam Bondi should sit down and have a long talk with Sheriff Chris Nocco.
I think he might have tried knocking on the door first. The wanted man was not wanted for murder; he was a common thief and drug dealer known to local law enforcement.
The sheriff's SWAT team could have burned down their house, giving one of them a heart attack.
Seventy-year-old people don't need to be SWAT-teamed. Somebody did not do their homework. I hope they sue the sheriff and the county. Are authorities that afraid of Moon Lake?

Politicians should have to face music
I recently wrote to state and federal officials telling them a law needs to be passed that says politicians cannot do plea deals. The Feb. 12 story about the ex-GOP boss cutting a deal to end his trial is exactly why.
We will never find out all the other officials involved in this case because of all the secrets that will not be revealed. This man should not get a sentence any less than if he had been convicted.
We need to send a message to these guys that they are not to steal from us.
