While trying to document this issue, I had the opportunity to work closely with several of my colleagues which helped to remind me that working on a team is one of my favorite things about my job. Having the opportunity to learn and grow by collaborating with others was one of the many things that made this a special year for me both professionally and personally.
Dirk Shadd graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Shadd worked as a staff photographer for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Press-Telegram in Long Beach, California before coming to the St. Petersburg Times (now Tampa Bay Times) in 1998. In addition to daily assignments, news and photo projects, Shadd spends a considerable amount of his time photographing sports. Shadd’s other interests include running, traveling and rehabbing old houses. (but not all at the same time…)
