Runners conquer the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in inaugural 10k run

Runners made their way from Manatee County to Pinellas County using the northbound lanes of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge on Sunday March 4, 2018.

Sunday's race, which began when the sun appeared over the horizon. with winds producing feels-like temperatures that dipped into the 40s.

No road race had been staged on the Skyway since January 1987, roughly a month before its formal dedication.
