More than 400 attending convention of national association of parliamentarians

More than 400 persons from the United States and around the world will attend the 38th Biennial Convention of the National Association of Parliamentarians Friday, Sept. 23, through Monday, Sept. 26, at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront Hotel. The theme is “Meetings of the World”.

MORE THAN 400 PERSONS ATTENDING CONVENTION OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PARLIAMENTARIANS

SEPT. 23-26 IN ST. PETERSBURG

           More than 400 persons from the United States and around the world will attend the 38th Biennial Convention of the National Association of Parliamentarians Friday, Sept. 23, through Monday, Sept. 26, at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront Hotel. The theme is “Meetings of the World”.

          A number of events, including exciting and informative workshops, are open to the public.

           

David Timmons – Keynote Speaker

          Delegates will hear David Timmons as their keynote speaker on Friday afternoon, Sept. 23. He is a popular speaker and entertainer.  

          A presentation on Monday, Sept. 26, beginning at 1 p.m., will feature some of the authors of “Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised 11th Edition” – and will discuss significant changes from the 10th Edition. This is an exciting opportunity to hear from some of the most respected parliamentarians in the world.

          The other workshops will range from “Presiding Practice” and “Nominations and Elections” to “The Basics of Amendments” and  “The Will to Govern Well.”

Elect Officers, Consider Bylaw Amendments

          Key NAP Convention business items will be the election of officers and consideration of a variety of bylaw amendments.

          The annual convention of the Florida State Association of Parliamentarians will also be held during the NAP Convention on Saturday, Sept. 24, at the hotel.
