Pinellas Park Care & Rehab recently earned a 5-star rating from the federal government (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services), a feat only about one in five U.S. nursing homes achieve
Pinellas Park, Fla. (April 24, 2013) -- Pinellas Park Care & Rehabilitation Center is proud to announce that it has received a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal government agency tasked with oversight of nursing home quality.
Pinellas Park Care & Rehab is a 120-bed skilled-nursing and rehabilitation center located at 8701 49th Street North in Pinellas Park. Services offered by the center include physical, occupational and speech therapies; a full-time chaplain and spiritual programming; vibrant quality of life/activities programming; and more.
Pinellas Park Care & Rehab is one of 75 nursing facilities operated by Louisville, Ky.-based Signature HealthCARE. About a third of Signature’s buildings have five-star CMS rankings, and more than half have four- or five-star rankings.
Under the five-star rating system, nursing homes are assessed in three main categories: health inspections, quality measures and staffing. The overall rating combines scores received in each of the three categories.
The system is intended to help consumers, families and caregivers compare nursing homes more easily and identify areas about which they would like to learn more. Pinellas Park received especially high marks in the Quality Measures category, which assesses resident falls, infections, weight loss and many other areas.
“We are continually working to offer the best possible care for our residents, in a nurturing, healing environment,” said Administrator Ryan Dulski. “I couldn’t be prouder of the staff at The Bridge at Highland for achieving this 5-star ranking through dedicated, compassionate care.”
