Sulphur springs homes rebuilt with help of united way handson suncoast volunteers

Partnership with Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay and in part funded by JPMorgan Chase Foundation and the Allegany Franciscan Ministries helps families improve their properties. More than 100 volunteers, from companies like Honeywell, CBRE, and the Bay Area Apartment Association pitch in to help.

United Way HandsOn Suncoast volunteers will help with exterior painting, landscaping, and small woodwork projects as part of a collaborative effort with the Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay.

Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay (RTTB) repairs homes of those in need. RTTB preserves and revitalizes houses and communities in the Tampa Bay area assuring that low-income homeowners live in warmth, safety and independence.  United Way HandsOn Suncoast participates with RTTB with volunteers who help with home repair, painting and landscaping.

With their financial support and provision of over 100 volunteers, companies like Honeywell, CBRE, United Way HandsOn Suncoast and the Bay Area Apartment Association will work to make a positive impact in the lives of four low-income homeowners in the Sulphur Springs' neighborhood. The homes are part of RTTB's Healthy Homes for Sulphur Springs which is in part funded by JPMorgan Chase Foundation and the Allegany Franciscan Ministries.

"We are committed to keep delivering, along with our corporate partners, healthy homes for residents in Sulphur Springs. We want to thank those that are coming to volunteer for making this happen," said Beverly Minardi, Board President.

"Healthy Homes for Sulphur Springs is scheduled to continue throughout the calendar year 2013. We are hoping that corporate partners and foundations continue supporting our efforts and allow us to help residents live healthier, safer and in a more efficient manner," commented Jose Garcia, Executive Director.

Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay was formed in 2000 in response to the increasing need for residential housing rehabilitation programs to improve living conditions for very low and low-income families, especially those of senior citizens and persons with disabilities. RTTB's goal is to preserve affordable homeownership and reduce substandard housing through working partnerships with corporations and county and city governments. RTTB was born out of a fundamental belief that all people deserve to live in safe and decent housing. RTTB assists existing low-income homeowners by providing necessary repairs free of charge.
