Tampa Non-Profit Organization Makes Unusual Gift to Ecuador
Representative from Tampa based non-profit eye bank, International Sight Restoration, delivering human corneas free of charge to needy patients in Ecuador.
Tampa, FL 12/27/2010: International Sight Restoration, Inc, a Tampa based 501(c)3 non-profit eye bank, is sponsoring their annual SEEson’s Gift of Sight mission. This time with a personal touch. ISR CEO Christina Sanchez Miller, MPH is traveling to Ecuador January 3 – 8 to oversee this charitable mission. While in the Ecuadorian cities of Quito, Guayaquil, and Cuenca, she will meet with ophthalmologists and their patients. According to Sanchez Miller, “We are taking this opportunity not only to help those in need of transplants, but also to meet face-to-face with the surgeons, patients and their families. Many who are in need of these donations are children, so we are also taking along a supply of toys to help in their comfort.”
