TAMPA, Fla. – (October 5, 2012) – Community Foundation of Tampa Bay (http://www.cftampabay.org) has awarded a grant to Trinity Cafe (http://www.trinitycafe.org) for the purchase of fruits and vegetables to feed the homeless, hungry and working poor.
“The needy often suffer from lack of nutritious foods; we strive to provide nourishing meals to help combat poor nutrition in this vulnerable populace,” says Cindy Davis, Trinity Cafe program director. “We are grateful to the Community Foundation for this grant that will help provide adequate nourishment to the needy.”
Most guests of Trinity Cafe consume only one meal each day, so these nutritious foods help fuel the body with energy and sustenance.
“These grant dollars represent gifts from our donors who trust the Community Foundation to determine where they will best be spent,” explained Ann Berg, Vice President of Grants for the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay. “We are honored by that trust and know that Trinity Café is a worthy recipient doing an important job in our community.”
